València World Capital of Design 2022 and Visit València has launched a Christmas campaign. To do this, they have selected ten postcards from ten different illustrators to dress the streets of Valencia and motivate its inhabitants to give smiles as postcards.
"Greetings from... is a tribute to our city that, through the eyes of ten different illustrators, reflects this Valencia, so diverse and full of life. Let’s make our neighbourhoods fly and travel to the places we are unable to visit."
We work in the "Pobles del Nord" district. Formed by seven towns, annexed to Valencia between 1888 and 1900: Benifaraig, Borbotó, Carpesa, Houses of Bàrcena, Mauella, Tauladella, Rafalell and Vistabella, Massarrojos and Poble Nou. It is the second-largest district in Valencia, although one of the least populated, where the orchard still occupies most of the land.
The proposal understands the orchard as a landscape domesticated by man through geometry. We use golden geometry, "ideal" geometry to illustrate the ideal model of the district. Geometry orders the poster, landscape, and the architecture itself.
